what is the purpose of relocation brkts

what is the purpose of relocation brackets?? I assume it is to run wider wheels and tires.

No its not to run wider tires. If you have lowered your car or if you run a taller than stock tire it raises the back of the LCA and that is not a good thing. The relocation brackets brings the rear of the LCA back to where it should be.
