Someone please tell me how to...
I need help clearing 17x9.5 ZR1's into my 90 RS. I just rebuilt and swapped in a '95 Z28 rear end, ever since chipping a few teeth off the ring gear on mine about two weeks ago. The tires (275/40)however are rubbing on the bumpstops when the car is on stands and I am reluctant to lower it out of fear of damage. Would there be any problem taking a cut off wheel to where the bump stop bolts on the frame? Has anyone else encountered this type of problem and found a remedy? Thanks in advance, Efrain.

im assuming that you mean ur having interference problems with the bump stops when the car is suspensed and the rearend is "hanging" because theres no load on it. the stock tires and wheels on my car rubbed the bump stop on one side, because the rearend is hanging, when everything is on the ground theres no problem at all. my car is now lowered and i have had no problems. i did take the bump stops out after i lowered it because they were getting too much use with the lowerd suspension. if ur using 17 x9.5 ZR1s on a 4th gen rearend u should have NO clearence issues.

I removed my bumpstops and cut off the brackets to clear my 315/35-17 Drag Radials. Actually, they only were in the way when the rear was unloaded and hanging. But now I don't have to worry about that anymore. As long as your springs don't fall out, you'll never miss em. And if you springs fall out, you are in for more trouble than bumpstops would alleiviate...
