master cylinder and prop valve
after doing a search i think i have it now.just to make sure, ihave an86 iroc drum brakes and just put in an 86 trans am rear with disc brakes. do i need to change the master cylinder and the prop valve?

yeah just the proportioning valve, what kind of fittings do you have on yours, i have two proportioning valves for disc brakes that are balloon fittings if your interested, if you have standard double flare i would suggest getting a adjustable one, i went through joe vanCamp and he couldnt get me one with the standard double flare fittings, so i went with the adjustable one, alot less hassle,

no i dont need one, already have which i got off an 85 transam, thanks anyway. i just didnt want to change it if i didnt have to

A better option, IMHO, would be to ditch the Factory Proportioning valve completely and plumb in an Aftermarket adjustable unit such as a WilWood. Easy enough to do with a tubing flare kit.
