LS1, C5 front brake upgrade????
I did a search and there didn't seem to be a ton of proven information about LS1 or C5 front brake upgrades, I was just wondering if there are any updates?
I was also curious about what needs to be done to make spindles fit for each of these upgrades and if there are kits to make them work as I don't have the means to fabricate my own stuff?
Will these brakes push the front wheels out at all and allow 4th gen F-body or C5 wheels to be used on our cars without spacers?
Thanks.
Brian

for all of the brake mods, spindle mods are standard 1le mods.
it might space you out just a hair, we are talking less than 1/2" (only spacing is going to be the width of the mounting surface on the rotor hat.
there is a ton of step by step by step by step info on these. heck i beleive there is a post in teh FAQ board about it.

Not too many guys running them yet, including myself. I hope to (finally) test them next week or so. My set is ready to go!
All the mods have been addressed in the C4 and LS1 threads, they are practically the same. If you are unable to do it yourself, there's others here including vendors who can do it for you. YOu can see some of the mods on Dan Burke's site here:

The brakes do push the wheels out a bit. I came up with about 3/8" per side on the C4s for a total of 3/4" overall but this is NOT enough to let you run the 4th gen wheels without spacers. We just installed a set of C4 brakes on Mongoose's car last weekend and his wheels are about flush with the outer edge of the fenderlip. I didn't get to see the car back on the ground. So, you could run 4th gen wheels with spacers, just subtract 3/8" or so off each spacer thickness and you'll be set. Spacers can be had at www.skulte.com
PM me if you have any questions. I currently run a C4 setup and I've done 5-C4 and 2-LS1 setups now so I know what I'm doing.
