Wheels specs
Sup,
I am considering putting a 4th Gen rear into my Maro after I get the body fixed, slight accident. When I was at the bone yard last week, I came across an SS, didn't get the year, but its 98+. I figure it has a posi rear and I know it has discs. So, I asked the guy who runs the joint and he said if I pull it, he'll let me have the entire rear w/ brakes for $150. Damn!!!
Now if I do this I would need new rear wheels. I figure I would put the rears I have now on the front and buy a pair of wider rear wheels, if I can get the same style from Weld. They are about 3 years old, so I don't even know if they will make them anymore!!!
But for now I would like to know what the correct offset and backspacing would be required for 17x11 rear wheels on a 4th Gen rear. I searched and came across a post with some ZR1 wheels and they had a backspacing of 7.5 inches. What about the offset? Or where should I go to find out? Would a wheel shop be able to help determine correct sizing?
Thanks in advance.
