Wheel adaptors, or not
I've been looking at getting 17"x9.5" wheels for the rear, and possibly the front of my 85 iroc, so I can run 275/40/17s. Most 17" rims seem to be for 4th gen cars and have about +50mm offset, and would thus require 2" or so wheel adaptors.
I have found that ROH seem to do their ZS wheels with 0mm offset. Am I correct in assuming that this would be far better for performance than using a +50mm offset wheel with an adapter?
If this is the case, then does anyone know who else does 0mm offset wheels?
Si.

why would it be better....performance isn't really altered using adapters. it's the wheels and tire combo itself.
i myself like the correct offset which is why i had a custom wheel made but if you really like a wheel you shouldn't be afraid to use adapters. you will get alot of people asking why you run fwd wheels though.

Wouldn't an adapter + wheel be more rotational mass than just a correct wheel? Those adapters don't look that light.
Another thought I had was the thermal performance of the wheel would that be detrimental or not in getting the heat away from the brakes.
Also mechanically is it not better to have the forces go through the centre of the wheel rather than have to go out to the outside and back, creating extra stress forces?
I know folks use these adapters a lot, but does anyone do any circuit racing with them?
