And chances are if your rear shocks are shot, so are your front struts. $60/ea for KYB GR-2 struts from Summitracing.com, $20/ea for KYB Gas-A-Just rear shocks. You can do 'em all yourself, but you'll need an alignment after you do the front struts. Replacing those will make your car feel new again. I know I'd be upset if I put lowering springs/rear lca's/sfc's on and the car still handled like junk!

You really want to fix what is on its way out right now. Other mods would be great but will magnify the weak spots in the suspension.

Excellent point Mdformula! These are very important to have maintained with an older car, high miles or not. The sway bar end links on these cars are very thin and rot away with ease over time. They may not look broken until you take them off and they crumble in your hand. Also, a trmendous amount of pinion anlge problems and vibrations can be solved by changing your tranny mount. I had some hard core problems with vibrations, improper pinion angle causing sloppy shifting and traction woes, and bad clunks because of a bad tranny mount in my 95Z. The GM pieces are garbage. I got a new poly one and it made a night and day difference and took 25 bucks and an hour to do.
