another E-brake question
sorry to bug you guys, but if the E-brake is out of adjustment will it cause something make a sound like a bad sway bar end link? when i'm driving over rough road i can hear what sounds like washers jiggling around, but the thing is when i step on the brakes even slightly it stops. i guess that rules out the sway bar end link theory? now i think it's some thing with the rear brakes. any thoughts?

humm...
what leads you to believe your ebrake is off adjustment? mine if put on in drive still wont stop my car. dont have any noises from it though. check brake pads for wear maybe a brake pad is really loose and jiggling, you could always take off a rear tire and poke at the brake pads. mine are stiff and i dont think you can move them once the caliper is on and bled. one more thing to check though cause its worth a shot, see if your wheel centercaps are loose this is happening to me , they sound like something loose in the rear end area but thats just it hopping up and down on little bumps. also trying driving on a bumpy road with the ebrake engaged and see if the rattling stops...its worth a shot goodluck

ok, i've got more details about the problem: it happens when i drive over bumps or bumpy terrain and it stops when i press the brake. ok, now this makes me believe this is in the front. what exactly in the front i'm not sure. anyone care to shine some light?

Engine: A small block something?
I adjusted my shoes so they barely push the drum (brake torques)
had the same rearend (different gear) in a daily driver 92 firebird last fall.A member from this VERY site tried makin fun of me because my e-brake was too high when we parked...
and a washer noise? I can see the cable hitting the rearend passanger side if there is slack.
how hard do need to pull the e-brake to get it to engage?
