Spohn Wilwood 13" kit vs Baer 13" 2-piston kit
Just wondering what you guys think of these two kits and how they compare. The price is a factor and was wondering if the 4-piston caliper is worth the extra $600?
your definately going to notice a 4 piston over 2 however most street cars won't really benefit from its true potential anyhow....however for those guys who are always on the gas it may be a good idea.
i drove a few 6 piston setups when i was looking into my 2 piece baer and never really got them up to speed on the street. the 4 piece is a nice improvement over the traditional 2 piston but is it really necessary? it's all up to the owner.

really, its not even a constant speed.... you cant say from XXXmph, the 4 pistons are better.
you need to be on a track where you're on the brakes hard, accelerate, and on them again, over and over until they heat up... only then will you even see the diff....
I'd say you only need the Spohn 4 piston setup for serious roadrace/autox/scca track use. I'm gonna be running Spohns kit on my track car, but for my street cars I'm gonna be going with the C5 fronts on the Z28 and 1LE's on the IROC.

You can go with the Baer upgrade on the front and save yourself some bones. Or you could go with the Baer system and all of the upgrades for about the same price as what Spohn is charging. That would include polished calipers, 2 piece rotors (lighter for less unsprung weight) and cross-drilled/slotted/zinc-washed rotors.
I believe the SSBC (Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation) also sells a 1LE uprade kit that's around the price of Spohn's but doesn't require any spindle modifications. Basically, it's a 12" rotor with caliper upgrade..
Good luck in your future purchases
