Picking out Rims/Tires
I need some new tires for my 91 Firebird, but don't really want to spend the money on another set of 15" tires.... I want to buy some fairly cheap 16" or 17" 5 spoke steel or aluminum rims. I picked up a Canaidan Tire PArts & Accessories catalogue today, and nothign really tickles my fancy. Too much chrome and crap. I've seen many Camaros driving around with some plain jane looking racing rims. They're nothign special, but look good, and suit the car. Any helpw ith these? I don't want to spend more than $150 CAD per rim.
Second question... tires! Costco seems to carry pretty much every tire I'v been thinking about, at a lower cost. With my 16 or 17" rims, whats a good choice? I dont' race my car, but a good tight feeling tire woudl be nice. Something that sheds water is important, I do a lot of driving in northern BC, and hydroplaning is my biggets concern.. Any help on anything?
