17x11 rears

After running a search, I found that most of the people that run 17x11s run the 50mm offset with either the 1.25" spacer or a 4th gen rear. However I was wondering if I could run a 36mm offset with the stock 3rd gen rear and spacer together. Would that fit? If not what would I have to do in order to make it fit?
Thanks in advance.

as far as Ive been told, you cant fit 17x11's without fenderwell modifications. In the great words of Kandiedz, go 10 wide, but i forgot the backspacing, but the again he was talking about 18s and not 17s. plus you can use a drop kit with 17x10.

I have had the very same question and here is what I have found out. The 36mm offset ZR1 wheel will fit but actually according to Skulte, you will need to run a 1.25" spacer. I am going to try and run a smaller spacer, in a week or so I will let you know what I come up with. As far as fender modifications, comatose 88 was right; however, that won't stop me. I am ok with rolling the lip and using a BFH on the inner fender sheet metal until the wheel fits. I want to tuck the wheel in as much as possible, so I might be cutting some sheet metal out in order to make that happen!
