Cheap Tires
does anyone know what the cheapest tires in the size of either 245/50/16 or 255/50/16 are? i've found kuhmo echstata 711's for $57 each and i was wondering if anyone knows of anything cheaper. quality is not an issue, as long as the tires dont chunk up and fall off or go flat if i run over a stick or something.

i saw them on at www.tirerack.com but that did not include shipping and handling because the warehouse is pretty much right down the street from me and most places around me work through the tire rack and give the same prices as they do without the shipping and handling.
and
the reason for cheap tires is because i'm poor and my tires are bald, this is my everyday car and i cant drive in the rain to get to work. if anyone knows how to use rubberbands as a tire let me know.

kuhmos arent bad tires for driving around. my cars had 245/40/16 712s all around when i bought it. for traction, they are flat out terrible(good smoke shows
). my crappy 305 w/3.08s couldnt even hook. cant compare them to anything handling wise, cause ive never had anything different

Inexpensive I understand but Cheap tires No, and that was the reason for the rubberband remark.

Pepboys has the Futura tires (made by Cooper) in that size. They cost $50 to $70+ depending on tire. The traction is good and the quality is good. If you get the HR rated tires instead of ZR they will cost less also. You just have to watch them and make sure they install them correctly (tread in the right direction).

i have kuhmo ecsta kh11, they are 56 apiece at tirerack.com
for their price, i like them a lot, they handle great on dry roads, have excellent traction on wet roads.

I considered 711's, but then realized they are only going to last 20,000 miles are are not worth it to mount and so on. Insead I'm getting either Indy 500, or a set of Firehawk SZ50 from a neighbor.
