I Have Steering Gear Info.

I have been on a search for this for about a week and this is what I turned up.
STEERING GEAR POST
BTW I just robbed one from a Iroc today. The code was gone.
,But sticking a wrench on it and turning it . It turns 2 1/3 times from side to side.

Best I can do I hope it helps.

Cool, good info. I need a new box myself. Just rebuilt the entire front end and I still have that annoying play in the wheel. I tried to adjust the box some a while ago, didn't do a dam thing...I've known I need a box for a while, but since I had to rebuild the frontend anyway due to a collision, I might as well get one now. Hello boneyard...

Great info. So the only difference in the two 12.7:1 boxes is steering effort? I geuss I don't get which one is the quick ratio.

I have heard a lot about a letter Z cast into the Boxes.
Some say thats the one the one to have others say it doesn't mean anything they all have it.

Well the one from the Iroc has a Z cast into it.
Tomorrow I will clean up my old one to see if it has the letter or not. I will also test it to see how many turns from side to side.

I have read pages of post etc trying to find the info on this.
From what I gathered the Info given in that post is prob correct.
Most things I read led you in that direction but nobody could break the info down. So i believe it to be correct.

I'll let you know what I find.
