Torque Arm Removal Problem

My Spohn torque arm has arrived but I cannot seem to get the 2 bolts on the old one that is still on my T/A off that is on the rear axle. I've been able to get the 2 bottom nuts off but the long bolts I can't budge. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, how have you gotten them off? I've sprayed penetrating oil on them numerous times and even tried an impact wrench and still can't get them to move. Should I try heating them up? If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

I thought that it was just two nut/bolt combos holding the rear of the torque arm on. After removing the two nuts, you can't just pull the bolts out?

Oh, have you taken the front of the torque arm loose yet?

Yes. I've already taken the front bracket off so the torque arm is free to move near the transmission.

if you cant get those long bolts to move use a hammer. also use some PBblaster it will loosen any rust in there.

PB Blaster is what I've been using on it and I have used a hammer on it too. But there's not too much room to hit it since I'm on the ground and so is the car. I'm going to try it again tomorrow. I've also tried a socket on it and a cheater bar and still can't get it to budge.

i used like stated: pb blaster, a big hammer, and a big wrench on the bolt head. it helped for me to have someone else. one moved the old torque around and hit the bolt with a hammer, and i move the bolt with a wrench.

I just took my torque arm off as well. Get the rear as high as you can in order to move that hammer. In addition, use a punch (3/8" drive extension, or a screwdriver) to hit the bolt up once you get it flush with the torque arm. Worked for me, hopefully for you as well. - Adam
