LB9 > L98 swap, sanity check
So lifes long gotten away from me, hopefully next week I can begin the long awaited L98 swap in my 87' IROC.
Heres the details and what I'm working with:
Car: 1987 Z28/IROC LB9 TPI 305/auto
Engine is a 1989 Corvette L98 (automatic car)
I have some DynoDon headers with provisions for the corvette style EGR stove pipe, so thats taken care of. Entire AIR system is being removed.
Once I get the old engine out the oil pan and oil pickup will be swapped over as well as engine mounts.
I have the ESC from the L98 Corvette, I'd think that will work here? I also have a L98 knock sensor.
Am planning on swapping over things like coolant temp, fan switch, and oil pressure from my old engine, hopefully the aluminum heads have the same provisions.
I have to figure out how to mount the external coil for my car since the L98 in the corvette had the old style HEI dizzy and i'll be using the 1987 F body one.
I have to figure out the memcal situation, I have a re-writable eerpom and a chip burner, but no 1987 L98 F-Body calibration to write to it. I have the memcal from the corvette but I doubt that will work here.
Right now I have Ford/Bosch yellow top injectors on the LB9, are those good enough for a L98? not sure. Either way I have the original injectors from the L98 hopefully those are good yet.
So what do I have right, wrong or am I missing before I start this? Thank you in advance

I didn’t see mention of oil pan and oil pump/pickup replacement.
since they are 19#hr might as well upgrade your injectors now.
the coil bracket can be u Shape ground to fit the Vette intake base.

I did mention that, but yes those components will need to be swapped over.
Thanks for the information on the coil bracket

if your tight on funds this would test and clean your 22#hr injectors , Southbayfuelinjectors’s has 22s on their site for a reasonable price.

The ks is 100k just limit torque to 14ft lbs if you have the Vette esc use it if not the lb9 should be okay.
