how important is it to change the prop. valve when switching from rear drums to discs?

You have to do it, so just get an adjustable one.

I just did mine:

here is the part #

1LE Prop Valve # for 4 wheel Disk brakes.

it is GM PART # 10164112 Late 89 to 92 valve 1.5M

I got my for $65 shipped.

its a good idea.

but the car is still able to stop fulley without swapping.... atleast for the PBR rears.

i dont know about the older iron calipers.
