My 89 firebird formula launches like a crazed cobra on crack. It launches hard out of the hole, with traction, but it's all over the place. The rear end squats down and the front jumps up . It has an all stock WS6 suspension. Shocks seem good, some rubber needs replacing. I'm thinking poly bushings and such. My lower control arm is bent at the axle side, toward the back bumper, is this normal or is it supposed to be straight. Are there aftermarket replacements? Any other ideas would be great.

woes

woes as in agonizing woes.
mucho different from whoa's, like "whoa that car is fast"

there are many replacements for the rear lower control arms, some tubular, some boxed, poly bushed, rod ended....

for the best possible traction, you want as much front end lift as you can get to transfer weight to the rear wheels, but you want to counter act the tendency of the rear to squat.....

when the back of the car squats, it is actually trying to pick the wheels off the ground, not push them down......better lca's a better torque arm, and some good springs and adjustable shocks will handle that
