lowered car w/ coil overs???

I have intrax lowering springs in the front of my car, and love the stance! I have a set of PA racing coil overs on the way. Will I still be able to achieve the same stance with the coil overs?? Surely they have enough adjustment in them to put the car where you want it, right?

My opinion is this, I can only speak from my own experince, I have tried three different spring rates, fabbed my own spring seats, and have gone to the billet strut mounts and an Edelbrock strut tower brace. At this point I still am not satisfied on how they work, any decent dip in the road slams the struts..I think they are bottoming from the violent shake the car gets when it happens. I believe the coilovers are an excellent upgrade over the stock set-up, but they really aren`t for the streets, IMO. I`m still on the fence, I don`t know if I`m gonna keep working with them or completely dump `em. I know this for sure, you will need strut mounts that are strong and def a strut tower brace. If you use the spring cap that comes with the kit it only leaves you with about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of travel, if you were to get the Art Morrison spring perches and the springs that go from 3 inch and taper down to 2 1/2 the strut would be able to travel another 2-3 inches...with that system Billet strut mounts would not be needed but a strut brace would be required. Some sorta bump stop over the strut rod would also be a good idea. If you get them as low as your intrax..post how you did it.

yep, have to agree....i wouldn't run anything other then a bilstein as the strut really made a difference on my coilover setup. unfortunately this required a custom sleeve a 3" od springs so the pa racing setup had to be sold. a strut tower bar is a must with the setup and i would definately look into getting a bump stop for whatever strut you use. koni struts weren't too bad but i definately wouldn't try it with a cheaper setup like kyb, monroe, gabriel, etc. definately pick yourself up some spring pearches from art morrison as they will be worth every penny.

you might have to play with the springs a bit as well, depending on your weight. i took alot of weight off my car so i had to change the normal spring setup. the last spring i was running was a 10"x3" 200lb and i couldn't really adjust it how i wanted.....eventually went with air ride so i could get the adjustment i wanted. after all the playing around with spring combinations it cost me about the same.

good luck.
