"shelf life" for Shocks and Stuts

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, 3.23 non-LS

"shelf life" for Shocks and Stuts

Is there a "shelf life" for Shocks and Stuts. That is, will stuts go bad if the car is not driven for 5-7 years?

Axle/Gears: ones with teeth

are they leaking? that is a sure sign that they are done for...
