Anybody have any good links, done it before, pictures, part numbers, and/or kits? Right now there is slop in the box that's pretty bad. About 10 degrees total slop on the input with no output movement. I tried adjusting the pitman arm but that didn't work. Seems like it's in the actual ball asembly so I need to take it apart. What parts do I replace when I'm inside or is the procedure just to clean, inspect for REAL damage, replace gaskets and "adjust" out the slop?

think you may find it easier to replace it with a rebuilt unit than rebuild it yourself.

They want over $200 for a rebuilt box. For that price I'm leaning towards saving up a paycheck for rack&pinion....

Thanks. I have a 2.25 turn box in Ohio that I'll be picking up in a couple of weeks. I hope it doesn't need a rebuild too. It seemed tight to me (crossing fingers).

I got the box, no play , but I still want to pull it apart to inspect it's condition (junkyard box).
It turns, I just need to set the input torque and powder coat it. This along with the astro van steerign shaft should be done in a week or so. I'll have pictures.
One question, is the "rebuild" kit you can get from the parts stores all the same for these saginaw boxes? The price is only $30 and I think I'll only need the gaskets, just want to be sure.
Why is it out of ALL these members nobody has rebuilt their own power steering box? I can't find anything on the rest of the web either .

This is all I found, I think they're all basically the same.
