Which Torque Arm to get!!!
Hey guys. I am trying to figure out which torqe arm to get for my '88 car. I am interested in good traction at the track, but also good cornering ability as well.
I was looking at BMR, Spohn, and even the new edelbrock adjustable. I am running a th350 right now, but have a 700 built and waiting to go in, and just recently got a t56 out of a parts car. So Spohn looks good, but most of their arms come with tranny specific cross members.
BRM track pack looks the best, and from what I understand it should work with my hotchkins SFC. Will this arm work well both at the track and in the twisties?
Edelbrock...simple and nice looking, but mounts to the trans, not the body. What should I do? BMR? Thanks guys.

don't get the edelbrock any thing.
Just read there warrantie for suspention parts
.
I think any after market Tq arm will be better than stock in twisies and strip, unless it is the edelbrock one.
You will have to reajust it for street and strip.

I just looked at the Edelbrock TA at the shop today, its OK. Its OK for the price, but I think I want either a spohn or bmr.
Anyone running either of the two?
I have a th350 in the car now with the crappy B&M install kit that comes with the adapter for the tranny mount to work with stock cross members. I was looking at the spohn site, and it seems that the 700 arm is the same as the 350 arm, only thing is the 350 cross member part has an adapter welded to it. So I am thinking the 700 arm will work with my th350 with that plate I have.
Thanks guys.

The torque arm itself is the same >>> I originally had a 700R4 spohn setyup...Then I switched to a TH400>>>spohn hooked me up with just the TH400 mount and I was good to go... Im not sure how the B&M adaptor will work with the spohn setup on the 350 though??
Edelbrock one may LOOK ok sitting in a box... thats about where the GOOD ends..

Gotta love them welds on the threaded ends. :stroke:
Spohn of course. Like Kenwood said, if ya ever go to the other tranny Steve can hook ya up with the right crossmember so that you can retain the same torque arm.
That and it will give me something more to do at work when ya order one

i'm surprised no one has mentioned the jegs torque arm as a viable option as well. it is not trans specific and moves the instant center more rearward for better launched. it does not use the trans crossmember as a mounting point so it can be used on any trans. seems like you might be flip-flopping trans a bit and this would work well too.
