Quick ZR1 wheel question

zr1 wheels with this info:

There are four 17" x 9.5" wheels included. They are 5-lug (5x120.65mm). They are a +56mm offset (7.4 inch backspacing).

What size spacers will i need...3 inch front and rear?

I'm runnin ZR1's with 2" Spacers and they work well. 2" spacers are easy to find, 2 1/4" spacers may be difficult to find. Ed.

It's the same at 56mm offset with 7.75" total backspacing. So with a 2" spacer that puts the back spacing at 5.75" and enough room to mount with big tires. I have found a set of Borget rims that I'm thinking of going to. They are copies of the C-5 wheels, and at 17" with 5" or 5.5" back spacing. These will allow me to go with 17"x8"rims in front with 245/45/17 tires and 17"x9.5" rims in the rear with 275/40/17 tires - With these I do not have to use the spacers, and they look great. Ed.

Oops - I had to run out and measure my rim I thought that the total back spacing was 7.75" (it's been a year since I bought and mounted them), that was incorrect it's actually close at 7.5" total back space

One more note - If you are using the 17" x 9.5" in front they usually stick out about 1/2" tread, plus tire bulge. That is my reason for going to the 17"x8" rim and the 245/45/17 in the front; these fit real good up front. You may be able to do it with smaller tires as I was running 275/40/17's on all corners. The 245/45/17 tire will fit the 17x 9.5 rim, but I have not seen them mounted - they may fit under the wheel well (as a guess). Ed.
