loose wheel cylinders
I recently replaced the rear wheel cylinders on my '87 Firebird, after finally finding a place that could get the right fittings and flare, and when I replaced the wheel cylinders,I noticed that the retaining clip would not hold the wheel cylinder firmly in place.
I could rock the wheel cylinder from left -to-right.The photo in the Haynes Manual,(I know what your thinking, strictly a comparison photo),is NOT the same as the one I recieved. In order for the wheel cylinder to have some fimness to it ,I had to bend the backing plate inward(towards the rearend) to give it some pressure on the retaining ring.
Just how flexible is it suppose to be or not at all?

When I put wheel cylinders in my 92 camaro, the clips were so hard to put in that I had to cut a piece of pipe of the right diameter and pound them in with a rubber mallet. After the install though, the cylinders themselfs fit extremely tight. Couldent budge em'.
