Symptoms of worn upper strut mounts
I have rebuilt most all of my front suspension and I am still not happy with the tightness of the steering. There is also some knocking noise coming from the front of the car when going over bumps. Can anyone tell me the symptoms of worn strut mounts or perhaps tell me what was improved when they replaced theirs?
Thanks in advance.

For the knocking sounds, check your swap bar links and balljoints, usually the most pronoujnced knock when they go bad.
I guess the strut mounts could knock if there were literally falling apart. Most of the time they begin to squeal/groan/whine, like when turning into parking spots or other tight turns
later
