10 bolt posi?
I'm curious to know if my 88 has posi or limited slip? It's a 10 bolt, when I do burn outs, both tires spin, not just one. I am running 3.42 gears.

Look inside your center console. There should be a big sticker with a bunch of 3 digit/letter codes on it. These are RPO codes, basically the options and other equipment your car came with.

well, i looked, but the sticker is damaged in one part. I can see that one set of numbers does start with a G but the rest is missing
any other way to tell, i looked on the door jams, i didnt look under the hood yet. Maybe by a vin lookup?

There should also be another sticker inside the locked compartment in the hatch. an easy way to tell if it is posi or limited slip is to jack it up and spin one wheel while in park. if the wheel won't turn, it is posi. if the other side spins backword, it is limited slip.

Nope. limited slip has a governor in it that locks up the opposite wheel when there is a few mph difference in rear wheel speeds. at slower speeds it does act like an open rear.

Planning on picking up the fast car hobby someday? (like.... maybe sometime after you lose the T2 intake....

Then identifying a posi by sight is something you need to learn to do.
If you really care, and aren't just wasting our time posting on the Net, pull the cover and look. It's the only way to know. For you, same as for everybody else that asks this question.
There's literally dozens of pice of every style of stock posi carriers ever used in these cars, as well as non-posi ones. Do a quick search over the posts for the last couple of months. I know that I myself have posted several. All of mine are posi, I don't think I even have a non-posi in my posession, in any of my cars or sitting on the shelf. I usually throw them away when I accidentally get one. Oh wait a minute... I do have one probably .... it's in my old beater El Camino. Never took a pic of it though.

Well, i dont plan on picking up a fast car as my hobby, I'm doing a V8 swap. and as for the torker, it was found to best for my budget. I might not be the smartest when it comes to cars as I'm a software engineer, but I love my camaro and any question I ask here is genuine. I'm learning as I go and tgo has been a great source for learning.

Sounds like a V8 swap and "import slayer" and all that might indicate a bit of a hobby thing going on, although I'm such a moron, maybe I'm misreading the signs.... but don't worry, that intake will prevent it from being a "fast car" hobby. It'll be just a "car" hobby.
That intake sucks. I can't think of very many that are worse. Like so many things, there's a reason you got it cheeeep; and that reason is, it's actually worthless. It doesn't matter how good of a deal you think you got on it; if you paid more than the aluminum by the pound (maybe $1.75 or so for the whole thing), you got ripped. The car will go faster with almost any modern intake at all on it, than it will with that abomination.
Oh, and in case you want me to quit beating around the bush and come right out and tell you what I really think about it, I will:

Get rid of it. A good bargain intake, that will make as much power as that POS you've got while using about half the fuel, is a ZZ4 one. You can pick them up on ebay all the time for around $100. You'll make it back in a month's gasoline bill.

Ok, so what intake do you recommend since this is turning into a T2 basher. I have not bought the intake yet, the car is still in progress. Keep in mind i cant afford a $200 manifold. I'm running a 1406 Performer.

No. It's a ZZ4 manifold.
I have a stock L69 manifold, a Performer, a Performer RPM, and one of those like what's in the pic on hand at the moment; as well as a few others to compare to. They're all quite a bit different.

Well, i'd like to buy it, but i'm not running any smog control or emmissions control, so is there a way I can block the EGR port, etc etc? or is there a ZZ4 manifold (aftermarket or factory) that comes non-egr?
