How important are these?????
Rebuilding front suspension on an 84 T/A. Putting control arms back on and spindles. Got new struts to put in it but one of the shields that rides on the strut to cover the shaft is damaged. Are these shields important andhow hard is it to find them? It mounts on top of the strut shaft and is just a large tube to keep dirt and stuff off of the shaft.
Thanks,
Thanks,

You are talking about the dust shields for the struts. The GM part number is 14019320. $17 shipped each from www.gmpartsdirect.com.
I would tend to want to use them to keep dust and debris off the moving sections of the struts. I do not know of another source other than GM. You may want to look at sourcing them at a salvage yard to save some money.

Also, as a much cheaper alternative, you can get Rancho shock boots from Summit, which should work just fine. (Someone correct me if they don't fit)

I believe that this search at Summit, http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp, is what FatherFrank meant to post.
