another SFC question
Anyone ever used the competition engineering weld in sub frame connectors? if so do you have to moddify anything to get them to fit?
I had the bolt in version in my 85 z28 for a while, worked fine, but after doing more research I found that the bolts wear on the holes and eventually make the sfc serve no purpose. With the appointment at my speed shop set to weld them in I got into an accident (few months ago), so they will go on to my new 85 IROC instead. Should be within the next month I get the new one running. (built from scratch)
As far as the pieces go they are solid square tubing, and if I could do it over again I would get the sphon tubular ones, especially after getting his panhard bar and lca's.
But if the price is right, they will still make a night and day difference.
O and to add, My hedman y pipe was in the way and I temporary dented the pipe to allow the sfc to fit. It was the y pipe for hedman shorties. I was waiting to go to long tubes with custom true duals, which was delayed but I recently started on that with some hooker longtubes from jet hot. I don't think any y pipe going anywhere near the passenger side will work without modification.
