steering column
OK, I just pulled my column apart to try and tighten up the tilt screws that always come loose on the third gens. While i was in there i bought new bearings for the upper shaft so you would think everything would be cool.......wrong!!!!!!
Has anyone else had this problem? although the column has less play in it, it is still loose when you put pressure on it. It is loose enough to release the tilt arm lock and allow the wheel to be pulled down without pulling the release handle (it comes free when i put more than average pressure on it). I have taken many columns apart before and i have a service manual so i know everything is installed correctly.
Any one know of what else could be worn or loose?
Thanks,
J.P.
