mix/match spring q/a

i recently came into a set of eibach pro springs. the black 1 inch versions. only catch it is only 2 of them.

i called eibach and ran the numbers. they are the rears. and since i have their products they agreed to sell me just 2 of them to complete the set.

i was thinking about getting the sportlines for the front. the purple 2 inch versions. the eibach guy said these springs are stiffer.

what do you guys think of mixing them up like that? it would give the car a nice stance i think and i could use the same rim size on both front and back instead of mix/matching them.

while the stance is nice i am concerned mostly about how well it would handle. since i have already spent a small fortune and am only 1/2 way done on the suspension.

i already have all new bushings/endlinks in the rear, new panhard bar(most noticable mod so far), koni 3 way adjustable rear shocks, subframe connectors, better pws pump/box, new body mounts, new motor mounts and new cross member tranny mount. i decided to keep the factory sway bars since they are the same diameter as the aftermarket ones i looked at.

getting a break on the springs would help but i don't want to shortchange myself. i have yet to put a set of control arms in the rear, bushings in the front, stb in the front koni 5 way adjustable struts, A arms in the front if available, those parts that screw into the steering rods(forgot the name) and a rear shock tower brace(i will have one made if necessary).

Depends on how low you want the front. And i think you wasted money on body mounts seeing as how our cars our unibody and don't use body mounts.

I think you would be unhappy with the stance. The sportlines are lower than the prokits, and some people are not happy with the sportlines because when you compare the front to rear fendergap its a noticable difference (too much of a rake for some people). If you had sportlines in the front and pro-kit in the rear it might look ridiculous. Just a warning ...

All matter of opinion... I like the back to be a bit higher than the front, and if you could do that with the same size tires on both I think it would look great. There won't be much fendergap because it's getting lowered regardless, so there will be less gap than stock period.

I have slightly taller tires out back on my Camaro and I love the stance... People comment on how it looks like a modern muscle car all the time, and that always gets me grinning.

Especially since it's a v6, hahaha.

Forget the stance... the stiffer rear springs will cause the car to want to oversteer which is dangerous and a PITA to keep track of on the street.
