Spherical Upper Strut Mounts
I have a quick question about the Fabricated Spherical Upper Strut Mounts from spohn. If I were to get these, would they lower my car at all or keep it where it is now? Thanks for the info.
I dont have the Spohn ones but I do have a set of HMS ones. The idea behind the mounts with the raised tops is that it will give some more room for strut travel on lowered cars. But depending on the rest of the setup (inc the alignment) I've been told it really dosn't make a difference. I dont have the knowhow to say I can calculate this in some way. All I know is I'm running the same style and it works great. Either way, it wont affect the ride height unless you were running coilovers. The other plus is the solid bushing for the strut tops. I have my set on a L98 car that still has the A/C, the fitment is very close to both the A/C line and the Brake Reservoir. So since you swapped motors be sure to check this out for any possible fitment issues (no idea if there would be any, but better to check).

assuming you dont have coilovers, the height of the car will not change.
the strut mounting point is raised slightly.. so the strut will be compressed less at ride height.. but the actual height of the car does not change.. the springs hold it up, not the strut.
