the great tire delema
Ok here is the scoupe. My T5 LB9 cant hook! My best 60' is 2.3 on way worn out BFGs and 2.4 on my firstone fire hawk 235s. I know if I cut a sub 2.0' 60' its 13 second city... hell my best mph is near 97mph with a 14.7 et! I know there is probably alot more time locked in me just practicing. I have only driven my car 900 miles since i put the t5 in and I really dont have the launch down too well.
The question is, what to get? drag radials or just say screw it and get slicks? I will just put whatever i choose on a set of 16" IROC wheels and put them on at the track. So no street use. The only reasons I would get drag radials instead is pricing and the greater possibility that i will frag either my t5 or my 10 bolt w/ slicks. Eitherway, I am not gonna mess with trying to get more power if I cant even put what i have now to the pavement

The et street radials are a really good tire but i have seen bf goodrich radials work just as well
I have had good luck with revving the engine then dumping the clutch but only laying the throttle to about half pedal then floring it after i get out of the hole to avoid spinning tires my best 60 on stock size street tire is a 2.0

Loved my old Comp TA VR4's.
I could do 1.9's all day long in my Formula.
Now?
Good luck, havent found a good street tire for anything near to hooking at the track, maybe some shaved basically road race tires, but those get expensive :-)
Just go for some MT's or BFG Drags and be done with it
later

Well, I have pulled constent low 1.9s on my Bridgestone RE750s, but the MT ET streets or drag radials would probably be a better choice.
obviously a drag radial will help, if you have a decent tire and learn to drive you shouldn't have an issue with a 14 second car. i use to run sub 2.0's with 16 h rated michelins with no problems. i had suspension mods though, the tires were in good shape and it took some practice.
