Sub frame connectors...
I am looking through the various options available for third gens - and I am also generally aware of what the purpose is of SFC, but what I would like to know is what should I be looking for specifically for tightening up a hardtop F-body. I see some vendors offer full length (like UMI's) tubular (global west)... etc, etc...
If for example ,I was to build my own, what attributes of the various vendours do you think should be used/designed into them? Are there certain mounting areas that must be addressed?, Material type, design shape? Boxed vrs tubular....
Bolt-in's are not an option...

you'll find alot of info with a search, but in a nutshell..


the ones that work best are teh ones that run along the rockers the entire length of the car.
they triangle over to tie into the front subframe.
and they attach to the rear LCA mount.

you can ignore the rear subframe since what you want to do is strengthen the car the best you can, not directly connect the subframes for the hell of it.

goto spohns website and look at his pics.. then buy any of the many vendors that make that style.


heres a tip.

they have to be welded.
welding requires clean metal.
so if you pay for them to be powdercoated, the powedercoating will have to be ground off most of it to let it be welded on... and the remaining powdercoat may be damaged near the weld from the heat... so save yourself the cash and get them without powdercoating....
