First Post..!!! I want to keep my stock 15X7 rally's on my '90 RS..'cause they match my car. I'm running crappy old 215/65R/15's..time for new tires..I've read so many opinions, and different combo's I'm getting lost.. but mostly info on larger wheels or swaps... I want all 4 tires the same size but as WIDE as possible on my stock rims with NO chance of rubbing.(I definitely don't want to pound on my car)..and the closest size to the original tire diameter is ???..I'm thinking which (all 4 corners) are best size:235/60/15 or maybe 245/60/15 what about 255 or 275 60's all around ??..OK I'd really like the 50 series look but with the correct diameter (26" ?) I guess they'd rub front and back. Thanks for the info.
the other option of tire size on these wheels was the 235/60/15 and they are 26" tall and about 8" wide. they are a great size and would fit your application great.
anything else is going to be taller....which would look goofy all the way around. i'm running a 275/60/15 out back on my car and it looks great, but they are a solid 28" tall.

235/60-15 is the size on my '83 Z28 on the factory 5 spokes(and what I'm staying with when I get new tires).Like mw66nova says it's a great combination of looks with very good contact patch. If you go taller outback you throw off your speedo and have to recalibrate it.The other option, which you said you want to stay with your factory wheels,is to go +1 to 16".Main thing is to do your homework in getting tires that offer the best in dry/wet traction(and with todays tires you can get sticky tires that give great wear charateristics). An odd note is tire diameter is not uniform between companies.
