This is one of those instances where you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT want to go back to GM for a replacement part. Those crappy pot-metal nuts with the foil covers are EVIL.
Get yourself some good quality aftermarket solid steel ones.

They exist. I have a set on my car. They came from somewhere, I just can't remember where; I've had them for 10 or 15 years I guess.
