Testing suspension
Testing suspension
Hi all, my GTA was involved in a fire last year. I've been stripping it down since.
The front shocks have been removed. I wanted to make sure the the driver side (fire side) was still useable.
I'm not sure how to test them. But this is what i have found.
Using a scale, the driver side shock starts to collapse at 82lbs. And the passenger side starts to collapse at 79lbs. The driver side shocks has some squeeks while the passenger side just has that good old healthy filling air into a ballon sound.
Both look fine physically but the driverside one has a plastic guard that is melted slightly.
Are these shocks fine? how else can i be sure?
thanks.
