'90 Pontiac Firebird GTA Wheels

Hello out there...
just read the post on offsets etc. and still am somewhat confused. Has anyone been able to convert to all of the same front and back wheels whith the same offset, perhaps in a 17" wheel other than the most commonly sold heavy spoked ones out there? I like the look of my stock wheels but I would also like to close the fender gap by going to a larger wheel and at the same time not to have to dismount each tire at 5000 mi intervals for rotation. Is the suspension compromised in any way or do spacers make up the difference? Been doing reseach on new Ultra High Performance All Season Tires and the majority of better rated ones seem to be made for 17" wheels. I appreciate any input. Thanks, teega

Why not run all 4 with the front wheel offset?

As for the stock 16 inch Diamond Spoke wheels, we found out that using the rears on the fronts, rubs the inside wheels bad!
As for the fronts on the rears, depends on the tires, as the tires can get ripped when the car goes into a driveway one wheel at a time, from the outer fender lip.
Stock tires should work all around with all fronts though.

Hope this helps,

George

yes, if you stick with a max of a 9" wheel width, you can run the same offsets at both ends. - Not sure on the b/s with 9" wheels, but 8's should be like 4.5......

Thanks for the input but would you mind explaining the second sentence?

Thanks George... so have you gone to 17" wheels with relative tires yourself? And what about the much talked about caliper clearance?

Hi Teega!
I haven't gone to 17s on either of our thirdgens.
But, I have gone bigger tires on the stock rear wheels. But, not by much.
