Replacing steering wheel & column on 1990 Z28, what fits?
The subject says it all -- I have a couple sources for various used steering wheels and columns of various years ranging from 1989 through about 2000. What will work in a 1990 5.7L IROC Z28 with VATS?
(I'm not opposed to disabling VATS, the car has a pretty excellent aftermarket alarm.)
Thanks!

Had to replace the column on my son's 91 RS (key switch and column busted up). It had/has VATS as well. We used a tilt steering column from an 88 Forumula (direct bolt in) and reprogrammed the chip to ignore VATS. Also, the RS is a 5 speed and the Formula was an automatic. The wirgin connectors were different. We had to remove the wires from the column connectors and then put the Formula column wires into the RS column connector so all the steering column switches (wipers, dimmer switch, turn signal, etc.) worked. Try autozone.com for wiring diagrams. Put a Grant GT steering wheel on it so he wouldn't have an RS that said Pontiac on the horn button.
