Idler arm bush

Hi all
I'm new here:-)
I have an 87 Camaro 2.8 V6. It had a lot of play in the idler arm bush. I went and had a look today. When i wiped all the grease and gunk off it i saw it had a big hex on the bottom. I wondered if i could unfasten this and replace the bush. I tried to undo the hex but t only turned a few turns and locked up solid. Since i did this it has no play in the idler bush. Are these idlers adjustable? I've looked at a lot of photo's on the net and i haven't seen any other idlers with this big hex on the bottom.
I haver only had the car a couple of months now and only just got it running, it's a big difference from my 75 C20 Dually pick up truck:-)
Thanks in advance

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Idler arm is not generally a serviceable part on these cars. You just replace the whole thing. Only costs about $35 on this side of the pond.

Is your car right-hand drive, or left-hand?

I know they are not usually adjustable but i have never seen an idler like this one before. It has a big hex at the base like a nut. Parts are not very cheap in the UK over double what you pay for them so we usually try and fix things before we buy new:-) I've been looking at online parts store and all the pictures are different to the idler i have? It's a left hand drive:-)
