porous rim

I have a ? for you guys, gals. I have a 91 camaro that has suddenly developed a porous rim. I put a lt1 in it and it sat for about 1 month with no probs, I then test drove it and it was flat by the time I made it around the block. I aired it up and took it to discount tire the next morning, they said and showed where the rim is leaking. I said OK and let me have it back, put ab out 8000 miles on it and no probs, let it sit one month and drive it to work and I get a flat by the time I get to the gas station. Air it up, go towork and no probs. I then get off work still 33ish psi and drive home, about 5 out of the 10 mile drive I am on the rim. SO, what is the deal, I know I have a porous rim and it needs to be fixed, but why am I getting a flat when the car sit for a week or so, no problems or air loss when not driving just when you let it sit and ten drive. It sat for 7 months not driven or moved, I drove it 2 miles and it was flaT. WHAT GIVES
