[Storage] Supported or suspended - and why??

Hey all,

Well, it's time again for my GTA to begin it's winter snooze, which for me means it'll be up on jack stands for a few months so that I don't flat-spot my tires. The question I have is "Should I put the jack stands beneath the A-arms & rear end (like I did last year), or should they be beneath the body itself, so that the suspension is hanging free?" Also, Why?

I'm tempted to think that it doesn't make that big of a difference, and if that's the case, then I'd likely have the car resting on the suspension so that I have a bit more room to work underneath (I'm hoping to swap engine & tranny this winter), but I'm open to hearing what everyone has to say...

Thanks in advance guys.

i usually support it by the rear end and a-arms. works for me....who knows which is better, but i have subframes and a cage so i don't think anything would move either way.

Yea, i'd leave it on the suspension. No difference though really.
If you're going to pull the motor though, I think you'll need to remove the front right tire, and maybe let the suspension hang. I removed my front right coil spring to get to the motor mounts easier. Might consider a front suspension redo, while swapping motors. It's a lot easier to get to stuff with no motor in the way.
