Suspension kits
I'm looking for a suspension kit that will have all (or most) of what I need to upgrade the suspension on my 82. From what I can see there isn't a lot out there. I checked Hotchkis and PST. I found a kit on http://www.performancesuspension.com/ for 1214 bucks (stage 3 kit). Anyone installed one of these? Opinions?
Thanks! GREAT FORUM!!!

What parts do you want to get? "everything"?
I didn't go for a kit, I just pieced it together myself. How much do you plan on spending on it all, $1200 sound about right to you?
I actually didn't even know they had kits to include all parts. I'd avoid that just because it's a small chance it'll have all the parts that I want, I prefer to mix and match.
Lets see you want;
springs x4
shocks x4
poly bushings (kit probably)
subframe connectors?
sway bars?
LCA's
panhard rod
torque arm that doesn't mount to tranny?
Anything else?

Since my suspension is stock, and a lot of it is original, I was thinking of replacing whatever would be worn out. The Stage 3 kit looked like a good solution.
4 shocks
4 springs
F & R sway bars
upper and lower control arms
Panhard bar
Bushings
I wasn't thinking of replacing the torque arm

upper and lower control arms probably means front a-arms and rear LCA's. Front control arms are usually pretty pricey, I don't think that's it's worth the money for a street car.
The stock torque arm should be fine.
That sounds like a good setup. Obviously SFC's should be dead first. I assumed you already had them, if not, do them first.
What shocks/struts/springs is in the stage3?

Our car's don't have upper control arms, and front control arms would be listed as front, not upper.
bushings, subframe connectors, rear lca's, lca relocate backets
Then shocks/struts, springs, and sway bars to fit what you want out of the car.

How much are you looking to do and how much are you looking to spend. That's what it all boils down to really. If you want like I do, which is a complete brand new suspension, you will spair at no expense. I'm in the middle of building my suspension to better than showroom condition and nearing the 2k mark. I still have some expensive goodies to purchase for the front end. Rear is just about done and sub frame connectors and stb need to be bought too. Of course I'm tearing out the old and replacing everything with the new, so prices seem to add up like no tommerow. I'm sure somebody here would say I went overkill but my motto has always been go big or go home. So now it's your decision to make on what you want to do with it and how much you want to spend to do it.
