tire sizes

ok I am running iroc rims and 265 50 16's. I have them all the way around. Yes they rub like crazy on the frnt. my question is what size tire should I put on the front so they will not rub but I iwll still have the same "stance" of the car. I don't want to put a smaller tire so the front end drops. I was looking for a tire size decoder(?) but could not find one. thanks

Your car should take 245/50/16 I would put that size on the front and they will not rub The first # is for width 245 The second # is height 50 Hope that helps

cpullma2 is close with his description of tire numbers. 265 - 50 means the crosssection (width) of the tire is 265 mm when properly inflated on a proper width rim. The 50 means the height of the tire is 50% of the width dimension when properly inflated on a proper width rim. They are just guidelines and actual tire sizes vary from brand to brand.
