suspension question.. i need some help
i'm getting my list of things to order this winter and one of the main areas my car needs help in is suspension as everything on the car i just bought is still stock at 107k miles. i am going to go poly for bushings as i'm just looking to get it solid and tight... my question is this:
what is the bushing in the area i circled? i take it that it's on the control arm.. so my guess is control arm bushing?
(this is not my car.. just a pic i found to help ask my question)
how hard is this to replace? should it be easy if i do the whole front end at once?
thanks for the help!

That is your lower ball joint, not the control arm bushing. The control arm bushings are to the left in the pic(2 of them). I suggest you use the forum search. There is a lot of info on front end rebuilds. Also, one of the best suspension mods you can do on your 3rd gen is SFC's(sub frame connectors). They tie the front and rear of the chassis together and make the car tighter all around, Just did mine and it makes a world of difference. Need to be welded in, cost me $175.00 for the work. Badman

Saw your other questions after I posted reply. It's better to do it all at once. New springs, struts, all bushings, ball joints, etc. Cost me about $900.00 in parts alone with me doing all the work. Thats using good quality parts, not the real expensive high end stuff. As for poly bushings, everyone has an opinion on them. If you just want a cruiser use rubber(softer ride) or poly(firm and tight but can be harsh). Some people use a combo of the two. Believe me, it can get confusing. Again, read the stickys and use the forum search, tons of info.Badman

i don't mind a harsh ride... this isn't going to be my DD, just a fun car that i want to handle a bit better than it did new.
thanks for the information! i do have SFCs on my list
i don't have ttops and i have the infamous crack at the back corner of the roof where the ttop would be so SFCs are needed if i ever hope to fix that issue. i'm also going to do springs and shocks/struts so i hope to do it all at once. i'm going to stick with my stock WS6 suspension parts where possible.
thanks again for the help!
