You need to call shops in your area and get quotes on the phone. If your ball joints are popping when you hit bumps or when turning you need to get them replaced. Badman

I did them myself and saved on the labor, not that hard. I got Moog replacement balljoints. Put them in the freezer the day before you install them. I borrowed a balljoint press from a mechanic, you can prob rent one from the parts store.

Yea, they're ~$40 per, and maybe 3-4hrs labor for both. That's a ball park guess though.

I did some research before I did them to find out the dangers of driving with bad balljoints, maybe you'll be able to find the site too if you search on it - A guy with a restored 1st gen (hugger orange I think), took his brand new car for a spin, before putting in the front suspension, ie, balljoints. His front right suspension "came off", and he slid the car to a stop on the a-arms, removing most of the paint off the underside of his car. And I think it was a tad bit scary too.

The car did not do this when the front struts (original struts) were old and worn out (they were toast). The car has 150K mi on it.

Just thinking about this alittle. Did you make sure to tighting the bolt on the top of the strut all the way?? If you did not it will make a "bonk" type sound as it moves up and down in the pocket. Just a thought.

I thought of that as well, or that maybe the bearing is bad. So I popped the dust cover off and put a floor jack under the tire. Raised it, lowered it, looks tight to me.

i already gave you a number to a buddy's shop and he's one of the cheaper ones around here assuming you even need ball joints done on your car.
