Shock/strut choices

OK, first off, let me make it clear that I'm not trying to start a "war" between the advocates for the different brands, I'm just trying to get some honest feedback from people who have more experience in this area than I do...

With that said, I've had it pretty much stuck in my head that one of the mods I want to do is to add a set of Bilsteins to my GTA - the downside of that being that they're fairly spendy - the one vendor I checked shows that the full set would set me back about $800. In contrast, Summit Racing shows that I could get the full set of Konis for around $100 to $150 less (depending on which ones I get, all prices are before tax/shipping/etc.). I know that there are more than a couple people on this board running Konis, but I don't recall having seen anyone with the Bilsteins, which I assumed was because the Konis seem to cost less.

My questions are:

* Why the price differential?
* What benefits do the Bilsteins offer that warrant the extra amount (performance, durability, etc.)?
* If prices were equal, would you prefer to have the Bilsteins?

Like virtually everyone else here, I have a limited "car budget", but I try to spend in a strategic manner - if the cost is justified, I'll just save a bit longer to get it.

Finally, like I said up top, I'm not trying to "start anything" (& I'd very much appreciate it if those running one brand or the other could be as objective as possible).

Thanks guys!

First off

Koni adjustable shocks/struts are the best choice for handling. Go to shox.com for pricing they were the cheapest when I was shopping. The bilstiens will work good with stockish spring rates and offer a cozier ride. The price you have is way high for them though. There are at least 20 threads about this so do a search for more info.
