Spacer question for '88 GTA with '97 wheels
Hi guys,
I'm sure this has been answered before, but I've not managed to find a definitive answer...
I have a stock '88 GTA with the 16"x8" gold cross-spoke alloys. I've picked up a set of 16"x8" chrome alloys off a '97 Trans Am which I want to fit (before you ask "why" I paid the UK equivalent of $300 - even something cheap like AR TTII's go for around $500 EACH over here!).
Can someone advise me as to what size of spacers I need front and rear. I know that the backspacing is different F + R but a lot of the advice on here relates more to +1 wheels (i.e. 17"x9").
Thanks very much!

Did you do a search? You should have found the answer easily.
You need 2" spacers. You can get them from http://www.skulte.com/

I though that 2" was the way to go - what's got me confused is that the backspacing on the stock wheels is different front to rear - 4.75" front and 5.25" rear. To match the 6.875" backspacing of the '97 wheels, wouldn't I need 2.125" front and 1.625" rear spacers? Or am I misunderstanding how they should be calculated?
Thanks
