Indexing front springs..where to put them?
Ok I have my front springs out and I need to put them back in....I know about indexing them...I know they cover the holes...but do they cover just one hole or both? and if they only cover one hole how far past the hole do I go? do I put them in the middle of both ...I have also heard halfway cover the second hole....
which is the correct way?

I put the end of my spring half way between the holes. I think as long as you can look up through the holes and have one hole fully covered and the other hole fully uncovered you are fine.

Exactly. With the end in between the 2 little holes.
No greater precision is required, or beneficial. The rust and dirt built up on the old parts, and the paint on the new, produce greater errors and tolerances than whether the spring half covers one hole or whatever.
Remember: measure with micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with axe.
There's places where finesse and careful attention to precision and detail, will pay off; this isn't one of them.
