Ok I have i weird noise coming from either the shock or the spring. The shock looks like its been on there for 20 years but when i do my bounds check it passes with only one and a half bounds before it stops completely.

Thats because the shock really has been there for 20 years. That thing looks like its toasted. Ill take a wild guess, and say thats probably the noise.

Man, there's lots of moving parts in that area. Beyond 'weird', what kind of noise are you getting? Cluncking? Clanking? Grinding? Jingling? Knocking? Tinkling? Squeaking? Rattling? Hissing? Scraping? Banging? Whistling?

Even if the noise wasn't coming from the shock, I would still replace that thing. I don't think it's an original but it still looks like it's been on the car a loooong time.

That "bounds check" you talked about really isn't an accurate test either.

The noise is likey a worn out strut mount. Those bearings dont take 20 years of use to well.

its a squeaking noise every time i hit a light bump or going up and down. I am just going to replace the rear shock.
