U Joint Question

U Joint Question

I have a chance to get an aluminum drive shaft with either of the following on it. Now I've done some reading but I can't find hardly anything on Drive shafts or Ujoints. So..I'm asking here. What is the main difference here between the following?

Dana Spicer Forged Cold-Form Technology solid u-joints

or

Dana greasable ujoints


If I was to get one of the above, which would best suit my purpose for a daily driven street car with a few mods? Thanks!

Solid u-joints are stronger.
Greaseble you can lubrificate wen servicing.

I used solid joints.

If you install the greasable U joint in the correct orientation it'll be plenty strong.

in wich position must the greasable U-joint oriented in the front or the rear of the car to have acces with the greas pump

The grease nipple needs to be under compression. The driveshaft rotates counter clockwise from the driver's point of view. On the front u-joint, the grease nipple needs to have the tranny yoke pushing against the grease nipple. On the rear u-joint the driveshaft yoke is pushing against the grease nipple.

Chances are you'll never break a u-joint at the grease nipple by installing it wrong.

Solid u-joints are installed on many vehicles right from the factory. They're designed to last a long time but because they need to be removed to be greased, they can still fail. My 91 truck has sealed u-joints and are still original and in good condition. A greasable u-joint, if serviced regularly, should last a long time also.

My race car uses greasable spicer 1350 u-joints.

If I had know I've buy solide one instead of gressable.If I understand the front nipple must be oriented against the tranny ,and the rear against the drive shaft or the rear end?

Another question regading the bearing.On the factory I saw a barre métal to help prevent the bearing cap to fall .But the new one don't have them.I wonder with some vibration put on it, can the bearing cap Fall resulting of lossing the driveshaft on the high way?

I think this is the answer but I don't find one for my car
