power steering box question if anyone knows?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the boxes like these will mount in our cars? the bolt spacing looks right but 4 bolts instead of 3. these are saginaw style boxes. anybody that knows for sure I would really appreciate an answer. thx

well honestly i think if its not the exact same thing it will not bolt right in, another issue to think about is the size of the threads in the pump for the pressure lines, they may be different that what is in the car now and could be a real PITA to deal with

I am changing most everything anyway so there will be AN line for the steering. but I don't want to get a box like this one and have to do alot of fab work to mount it and make sure it is still reliable.

I believe the box itself should bolt right up and the one bolt wont be used. But you will have to do what i did and fabricate your own pitman arm and do a lil modification to the steering knuckle.

could you post a pic of yours? also what kind of mod to the knuckle? I will be changing my steering shaft like this is there going to be a major problem? I wouldn't think so but you would know better than me.

Do you have a little more information about that box? It may help knowing what we are looking at and or measurements. The lines can most likely be adapted one way or another if they wont thread right in

Re: power steering box question if anyone knows?

Where are you trying to get it? It looks like a 600 series box, this is what I was getting at..... If it is a 600 series box you should be able to bolt it up and the pitman arm will transfer over
